Dash Powdrill, RN RM MBACP DIPLOMA IN COUNSELLING [CSCT/NCFE]
Dash has been a Registered Nurse and Practising Midwife for over 30 years. In 2004 she completed her Diploma in Counselling [Integrative] at Huntingdon regional college, learning much about the Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Person centred models as well as Cognitive Behavioural / Solution focused models of Counselling Therapy.
Her practice is underpinned by Rogers’ Person Centred Approach, but she uses theory from other models, as becomes necessary to suit her client needs best.
Her Counselling experience is with a broad age range [14 - 50+] and includes issues relating to Relationship Difficulties, Anxiety, Depression, Bereavement, Stress, Self-Harm, and she has a special interest in Pregnancy related issues / loss.As a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy [BACP] she subscribes to their code of Ethics and Practice.
The first counselling assessment session will be 60 minutes long, with follow-up sessions being about 50 minutes, at times mutually agreed between counsellor and client. The counsellor will review the sessions regularly with the client to assess how both feel about the process
