Farah Anverkhan, BSc[Hons] MCSP, MHCPC – Senior Physiotherapist
My passion for working as a physiotherapist stemmed from a deep desire to work with people, a love of science and a fascination with the intricate design of the human body.
Having qualified as a physiotherapist in 2016 from the University of East London, I recognised very early on that I was keen to build experience working within an outpatient musculoskeletal setting.
My first role was working within a falls prevention service with the Central London Community Healthcare Trust. This involved planning strength and balance classes, teaching home exercise programmes and providing educational sessions to clients to promote self-management and improve independence in returning to their everyday lives.
From 2016 to 2017, I completed my rotations as a Junior Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with the Whittington Hospital NHS trust. This helped me solidify my understanding of musculoskeletal conditions and recognise the gold standard treatment. My position as a Junior Physiotherapist involved completing 1:1 assessments with clients, creating treatment plans involving manual therapy techniques, sports taping and designing individualised home exercises programmes.
In 2017 having joined Parks Therapy centre as a Senior Physiotherapist, my passion for musculoskeletal physiotherapy continues to grow everyday as I work within the local community. I am keen to progress as a clinician by keeping up to date with the most recent research in this developing field of healthcare and ultimately empowering people to be more independent.
